SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER

TOP is seeking experienced Social Workers. Duties include providing interventions, social and emotional support, and case management services to children and families in a school setting. Minimum of Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field is preferred. Preference given to candidates with current Alabama Social Work license. HEALTHY FAMILIES AMERICA DIRECTOR

Tuscaloosa’s One Place is searching for an experienced candidate for the position of Healthy Families America Director. Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, education, or related field. Master’s degree preferred. Candidate should have experience in providing services to culturally diverse communities/families, experience in home visitation with a strong background in prevention services to the 0-3 age population, knowledge of infant/child development and parent-child attachment and knowledge of maternal-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect.


The Healthy Families America Director will be responsible for the day-to-day, firsthand management of the program. The director will provide weekly individualized supervision to staff, which incorporates administrative, clinical, and reflective practices. The director is required to be involved in planning, budgeting, staffing, training, quality assurance, and evaluation to ensure compliance with program policies and procedures.

CAREER COUNSELOR

We have an open position for a Career Counselor to coordinate services that train, direct, and motivate participants and maintain effective working relationships with community partners. Preferred experience in career/job placement or an employment and training program, recruitment, developing job search plan and/or retention services. Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, human development, education, or a related field required.

FAMILY SUPPORT SPECIALISTS

We are searching for candidates with a social service background to provide parenting instruction. Position involves client assessments, home visits and leading parenting classes in a group setting. Candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in the field of social work, psychology, human and child development, counseling, sociology or related field, and candidate must have a minimum of one year associated experience. Positions available in Tuscaloosa and Marengo Counties.

AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM TEACHER - BUHL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Tuscaloosa’s One Place is seeking After School Program Teachers for Buhl Elementary School. To qualify, candidates should be 21 years of age or older with a background in social work or education and prior experience working with children and supervising them. Candidates must be cleared through the Child Abuse Central Registry and pass a background check, including fingerprinting. Candidates will be expected to work two hours and a half per day during the school year, Monday through Friday 2:45pm until 5:15pm with an additional half hour planning time for each day teaching.

$15 Hourly rate for non-degreed staff; $17 hourly rate for degreed staff; $20 hourly rate for certified teachers.

INTERNSHIPS

TOP is looking for interns interested in learning about the social service field.  Interns should expect to learn all TOP programs, and upon successful completion of their internship, will be prepared to enter any social service position with excellent skills.  Applicants should have strong communication skills and should be majoring in social work, psychology, human and child development, counseling, sociology or related field.  Interns should have strong writing skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.  Internships are unpaid placements.
